Tiri ya Tiyara (Fly away kite) is a picture book for under twelves. The story is about a nine year old girl named "Zahra'" whose parents died one after the other and left her alone in this world; however, she went living with the son of her uncle and his wife. The story shows the grief that never leaves Zahra even though the environment around her can help her to forget about the pain she's keeping inside from the absence of her beloved parents and the fact that she's not like other children. Zahra thought she was alone although she had friends, aunts and uncles, but she was seeking her parents and needed them. Until she sat with her friend Abdel-Rahman and knew what truly lay behind his smile and positive self. His life sounded even worse than not only from what she expected, but also from her own situation. I believe I have to say that Abdel-Rahman was Zahra's blessing because listening to his problems changed hers into becoming less painful; he was able to live life and stand up again, he chose to face life with a smile and not tears. Zahra lost important people at a very young age but life was kind to her in offering a guide to show her how to live this life.
